IFHE is pleased to announce Curtis Stone as patron
Curtis’ philosophy is to cook as Mother Nature intended—buy local, seasonal and organic ingredients, keep recipes simple and allow the food to speak for itself.
Born in Melbourne, Australia, Curtis began his culinary career in renowned London restaurants such as The Grill Room at Café Royal, where he worked with three-star Michelin genius Marco Pierre White, and the Mirabelle. During his tenure at the Mirabelle, Curtis contributed to the highly revered Mirabelle Cookbook and saw the restaurant awarded a prestigious Michelin star. Curtis was then handed the reins to White’s flagship restaurant Quo Vadis, where he received critical acclaim and remained until 2003, when he made the leap to television.
Curtis’ first show, Surfing the Menu, ran for three seasons in 26 countries. In 2006, he made his television debut in the US via his own hit series Take Home Chef on the Discovery Network’s The Learning Channel, which has been viewed in over 70 countries around the world. Curtis has been a regular contributor on NBC’s The Biggest Loser and appears frequently on The Today Show. Earlier this year, Curtis co-hosted the reality competition series America’s Next Great Restaurant and the third season of Top Chef Masters on Bravo. He will continue his relationship with Bravo in 2012.
Curtis’ fourth book, Relaxed Cooking with Curtis Stone: Recipes to Put You in My Favorite Mood, was published by Clarkson Potter in April 2009 and is packed with easy-to-make recipes for every meal of the day. He is looking forward to opening a restaurant in Los Angeles within the coming year.
