Home Economics Victoria – Skills for life

Home Economics Victoria logo

Home Economics Victoria is a not-for-profit charitable institution which has since 1958 supported educators in empowering young people to live sustainably and take responsibility for their own physical, mental and social wellbeing.

As a Registered Training Organisation, Home Economics Victoria delivers its own Vocational Graduate Diploma of Home Economics Education (endorsed by the Victorian Institute of Teaching) to retrain qualified teachers in home economics education.

As a provider of programs they work in partnership with the Victorian Department of Education and Early Childhood Development through the Strategic Partnerships Program and the Department of Human Services to deliver the statewide Fruit + Veg program in primary schools.

Synonymous with Home Economics Victoria is Cookery the Australian Way, the iconic home economics textbook, in print since 1966 through multiple editions and still going strong.

We operate a full-time office with eight staff, providing leadership, support and services to home economics educators.

Home Economics Victoria is very proud to be the host organisation of the IFHE 2012 World Congress. For more information visit www.homeeconomics.com.au
